Shipped 26 Dec 2008

Arrived 6 Jan 2009 - Kodak ESP-5 S/N CN1K29138075285E2401 - Service Number C091354

7 Jan 2009, out of the box and installed...nothing prints out, removed and re-installed the print heads and ink cartridges, receives instructions from the PC to print, nothing prints out. Ran maintenance to check nozzles and clean print heads, nothing works. Cartridge Level indicator shows 1/3 full, where is the ink going?

8 Jan, Called Tech Support, after troubleshooting Kodak.com/go/support it was determined replace Print heads Case# 2577669, I was told I would receive a confirmation e-mail, no e-mail. Tech Support appears to be outsourced, heavy Indian accent Support Tech, typed in Young as Jung, did not get my e-mail address correct so I never got the confirmation.

12 Jan, Print heads arrived, same issue no ink prints out, head goes back and forth as if printing, so receives instructions from the PC to do something.

12 Jan, Called Tech Support, Case # 2581086 - P-01-366483842 - new printer to be sent - Tech Support medium Indian accent and said the previous support had typed in webmaster at begnal-enterprices.com not enterprises.com and why I never got the last confirmation e-mail. I did get a confirmation e-mail after this correction, Kodak All in one Printer Information [#2581086]

12 Jan, Called Kodak Memphis spoke with Juan, Juan e-mailed a shipping label, 1ZSEA2929099153031, I packaged the ESP-5 for shipment, received yet another e-mail, canceling the shipment. Called Kodak back and got Juan again, he made a mistake and re-issued another label # 1Z53A2929099153031. It was a good thing I had more than one printer to print the labels out. Then I drove round trip 9 miles to ship ESP-5 with all cables, power cord, CD, Ink cartridges, print head and manuals.

16 Jan, Replacement Printer arrived, without ink cartridges, no power cord, no USB cable, No CD or Installation how to manual. New ESP-5 S/N CN1K28138075287N0987 - Service Number C181378

16 Jan, Called Memphis, told to talk to Tech Support, at 800-235-6325, I made 3 calls, first 2, I was left listening to air after being transfer, no recorded message or hold music, 20 minutes elapsed.  Called a 3rd time, finally get through, a total time over 60 plus minutes between all 3 calls. Livid is not the word I would like to use.

Tech Support stated my replacement USB cable, power supply, CD, ink cartridges and manuals to be here Monday Jan 19th.  3 weeks and no working printer from Kodak. I could of went to Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, or the closing Circuit City to get a new printer CompUSA already closed months ago.

19 Jan - No replacement USB cable, power supply, CD, ink cartridges and manuals have arrived, but yet another print head, making 3 total I have in my possession.  I called Tech Support 800-421-6699 today, I was told print heads are shipped over night and separately...interesting the last print head took 4 days to get here.  And on 16 Jan, I did not even state I needed a print head, I told them I was sent a replacement printer with a print head, however no ink cartridges, CD, USB cable, manual or power supply were included so I still cannot use the ESP-5.

And last, I have 4 Kodak Support Follow Survey's on my recent Kodak email Support Experience waiting in my inbox.  I am looking on how to contact Kodak Customer Service Complaint Dept.  These Venders/Manufactures make it very difficult to contact them...probably they have something to hide.  I know I would never treat my customers/clients in this manner.  And I wonder if they ever experience what we experience as the Consumer.

26 Jan 2009, Replacement cables, power supply, DVD, color Ink cartridge and DVD arrive, and I can finally now use a Kodak printer ordered Christmas Day 2008.

1 Mar 2009

Downloaded and installed ESP5_RC7_0_Firmware update upon a successful installation, I received Error Code 3807.  I search Kodak’s FAQ and Support for the definition of Error Code 3807, nothing was found.

As you can see I have had the replacement printer since 26 Jan 09, now 1 Mar and this happens, having to replace the print head, not knowing what Error Code 3807 means.  Unknown if the Firmware update was cause for this or this is what to expect every 34 days.  I have not even printed 50 pages yet.

It took a month to get a working Kodak ESP 5 printer, 34 days with one print head and here I am again with a non-working Kodak printer.  I have spent hours with Tech support both online and on the phone, days waiting only to be inconvenienced once again.

  • New Printer arrives, does not work, waiting on replacement print heads that do not work either

  • Outsource Tech Support, cannot get my e-mail address right, or my name of Young

  • Call Tech Support more online and phone time to get a replacement printer, since print heads are not the problem per Tech Support

  • Warehouse person sends an RMA label only to rescind, call back, Warehouse person made a mistake and resends another via e-mail

  • I return ship the complete printer & accessories as received and receive back a printer with no accessories.  Still no usable Kodak ESP 5 printer.

  • 30 days since order, I have a working Kodak ESP 5 printer

  • 34 days later Kodak ESP 5 needs new print head

27 Mar 2010, just over a year of being able to print, black does not print, changed ink cartridges, cleaned print heads and ran nozzle check, still did not print blank ink.

My guarantee to Kodak - I shall never buy another Kodak product.

Why outsource, when so many Americans are out of Work?
